Cowal Peninsula

Outdoor Adventure Pursuits on the Cowal Peninisula, Argyll

The spectacular Cowal Peninsula, with its stunning sea lochs set against a backdrop of unspoiled glens, mountains and forests, is unique in Europe.  It is practically undiscovered as the gateway to the Scottish Highlands, yet is little over an hour from Glasgow.

The Argyll Forest Park which extends from Holy Loch to Loch Lomond has numerous footpaths and cycle tracks. This area contains the most stunning scenery in Cowal, and includes the Arrochar Alps, a range of rugged peaks north of Glen Croe which offer some of the best climbing in Argyll. The most famous of these is Ben Arthur (2,891 ft), better known as The Cobbler, but this, and the other "Alps" are only for the more serious hill walker. The hills south of Glen Croe, between Loch Goil and Loch Long are less demanding.

Take some time out and escape to this idyllic part of Scotland which is a haven for wildlife and outdoor activities, but also has great accommodation, restaurants, pubs and festivals.  At Quadmania we have four self catering cottages on the farm in an idyllic setting, visit www.stronchullin.co.uk.  Cowal has truly beautiful scenery and there is nowhere better to appreciate it than in Quadmania's 2000 acre adventure playground of forest, mountain and streams.
